CALL FOR ARTWORK SUBMISSIONS

For Our Second O.R.S.A. Calendar

Celebrating Artwork by Individuals with Rett Syndrome and Their Families

About the O.R.S.A. Calendar:

We are excited to announce our second O.R.S.A. (Ontario Rett Syndrome Association) Calendar, dedicated to showcasing the incredible artistic talents of individuals with Rett syndrome and their families. This calendar aims to celebrate the beauty, creativity, and strength within the Rett syndrome community while raising funds for a noble cause. 

Any artwork submitted will be displayed on the ORSA Instagram account during Rett Awareness month with full credit to the artist.

Submission Guidelines:

We invite individuals with Rett syndrome, as well as their families, to submit their artwork for consideration in the O.R.S.A. Calendar. Artwork can encompass a wide range of mediums, including but not limited to: 

  • Digital artwork 
  • Paintings and drawings 
  • Photography 
  • Collages and mixed media 
  • Sculptures and crafts 
  • Open to other formats
Priority submissions will be given to Rett individuals, however family members are welcome to submit a piece to express an Rett individuals resilience.
Theme: "Hopeful Journeys"

We encourage submissions that capture the theme of “Hopeful Journeys”. Through your artwork, show us the strength and positivity that emanates from the Rett syndrome community. Whether it’s a vibrant painting, a heartfelt photograph, or an intricate sculpture, we want to see your unique perspective on resilience and joy. Hop

Submission Guidelines:

**Physical Submission WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED – we apologize for the inconvenience**

Please note that we print our calendar images at 300 dpi on 11″ wide by 8 1/2″ tall semi-gloss paper. All submissions are welcome, but remember, the final product is a print. If you’re submitting a dance, film, song, or something else entirely, get creative with how you capture your submission.

  • A title for each piece submitted (each submission must have its own title)
    • One submission per piece
  • A short 2-3 sentence explanation of how EACH piece relates to this years entry theme
    • (maximum 2000 characters, including spaces)
  • Your full name
  • Your age
  • Where you are from in Ontario or Canada
  • An active Email Address
  • Your phone number (or the best way to contact you)
Submission File Requirements:
  • Each submission should be a high resolution (300 dpi), PDF, JPEG, TIFF, or PNG
  • Poems may be submitted through using the word program of your choice
  • Sculptures or other physical objects should be photographed and submitted digitally (please take these photos in a well-lit area, with minimal background)
  • Audio or Video submissions will NOT be accepted for the calendar, however can be used during October Awareness Month.
    • If submitting a video or audio for October Awareness Month display
      • Submissions must be uploaded to Youtube or another publicly available video platform

**When photographing a submission, you can send more than one image of that submission. For example, 1 sculpture may be submitted with 3 or 4 different photos and still count as1 of your 2 submissions.**

How to Submit:
  • Create your artwork based on the theme “Hopeful Journeys” 
  • Take a high-quality photograph or scan of your artwork. 
  • Fill out the online submission form at  with your contact information and a brief description of your artwork. 
  • Attach your artwork file to the submission form. 
  • Click submit
Important Dates:
  • Submission Deadline: August 16, 2024 at midnight.
    • (We can not accept submissions after the cut-off deadline due to production timelines)

  • Notification of Acceptance: August 23, 2024 
  • Calendar Release: Before the Holiday Season
