What is FLASH Camp?FLASH Camp is a family camp in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, established to teach literacy and communication skills to individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), alongside their families and support workers. By becoming immersed in an AAC environment with opportunities to engage in conversation, campers will develop their skills and confidence in using AAC to communicate. Parents and siblings will gain confidence in modelling communication using AAC, and be more able to advocate for literacy instruction at school. The camp setting will provide families with the chance to connect with each other and restore their mental health.
